- TECH: Some DVD recorders now limited with copy protection. You don't really own that DVD. Grade B-.
- CONSUMERS: Grey Tuesday gets strong support from both web sites and consumers with 100K downloads. Grade B.
- COURTS: Won't let Hollywood cut corners with group consumer lawsuits. But that's minor compared to supporting the flawed DMCA over consumer rights to backup media by ruling against 321 Studios. Grade C-.
- GOVERNMENT. European directive may be positive for consumers but it's far too early to tell. More troubling is the California state Attorney General trying to rally other states against P2P.
